Friends of ours have a paddock of peas that they harvest every year. They invite friends to come after the pea pickers have been through to pick a 'feed of peas'. There are still plenty left after the pickers have been past.
On the morning that we went Chris and Karen discovered that they had to urgently 'repack their sock drawers' or something! So Mum, I and Maureen from next door headed off - with 'Little Man' to act as supervisor!
We picked a lot of peas - 90 minutes is all our backs could take! Then we had to shell them when we got home! They taste delicious - don't know if we will go again...but at least we can say we have 'picked peas'!
