Solomon

It was Solomon's last day with us on Friday. It was a warm spring day and he spent it quietly with his oldest friends Sultan and Doris. Old age caught up with him and his legs couldn't carry him like they use to. In horse lore, when a horse dies he travels over the rainbow bridge. There, all the horses that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour. They can run, jump, play and do all of the things that they did in their youth. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. RIP Solomon

Solomon is the brown horse - we estimate that he was 37 years old - so he had a good life and was spoilt rotton by my sister, Karen, the last few years. The white horse is Sultan. He and Solomon have been together fo at least 20 years - he is about 32 years old. Doris the sheep is about 14 years old. Think our place is an 'old animal's home'!
