What a week!

At the farm

  • Fairly quiet here, just waiting for the goats to have kids!
  • Chris and Don (next door) are building a shelter for the goats at the back of the shearing shed.
  • The dogs enjoy their nightly bunny hunts!

In Australia

  • John Brogdan resigns because of comments he says about Bob Carr’s wife
  • He then attempts suicide!
  • Media bagged for their involvement in the lead up to his suicide attempt.
  • One of the key reporters involved with The Australia resigns because of what happened (apparently his byline was used on a story he didn’t write!)
  • Cross city tunnel opens in Sydney, takes 2 minutes to travel from one side to the other now!
  • Telstra chief says that he wouldn’t want is mum buying shares in Telstra, shares plummet! Then this week he says something else, they drop again! Might be a good time to buy some!!
  • Steve Waugh named Father of the Year!

While all this is happening in Australia, overseas had even more dramatic events!

  • Hurricane Katrina demolishes New Orleans, maybe thousands dead.
  • Huge media furore over the lack of help or the ‘late coming’ of help to the survivors of the hurricane
  • An explosion causes a stampede at a religious event in Baghdad, 1000 people trampled to death!
  • Typhoon hits the China coast 950,000 evacuated, about 70 died.
  • Venezuela discovers the USA has plans on how to invade them!!

This week can only be better!
